Wil Monestime

 
  Wil Monestime was born and raised in Boston, Massachusetts and is a graduate of Emerson College with a degree in Media Arts/Television and Radio Broadcasting. He created and hosted "Tape Deck Tuesday", a weekly three hour hip-hop show on Boston's most popular radio station, WERS 88.9FM. Shortly after, Wil moved to Los Angeles to work as an anchor/reporter for Channel 1 News.

Wil made his way back to Boston where he appeared in several commercial advertisements for companies such as McDonald's and Sprite. He also had the pleasure of scoring an extra role in the movie "State and Main" starring Alec Baldwin and Sarah Jessica Parker. Wil has been a member of Screen Actors Guild for almost 10 years. Currently, Wil can be found interviewing NBA players and hosting in-store events at the NBA Store on Fifth Avenue in Manhattan.

 NBA Store, New York - DJ /Event Host/A/V Associate                           2/2006-Present

Responsible for audio and visual content played throughout the store. Execute all announcements to customers of store sales, events, game scores and highlights. Host private parties, special events and contests by performing live play by play announcements for children’s basketball games, interacting with fans and providing contest trivia questions. Co-host events with radio personalities from stations such as Z100, Hot 97 and Radio Disney. Operate cameras, lights and sound boards for the in-store television studio which broadcasts to NBA TV.

 Crown Royal Television, New York - Host/ Correspondent                        8/2005-5/2006

Hosted online segments for Crown Royal Television, including the Kentucky Derby “Crown at the Downs” event and the “Crown Royal Lounge” Oscars pre-party.

 Virgin MegaStore, Boston - DJ/Store Personality                                      12/2001-8/2003

Responsible for audio and visual content played throughout the store.  Executed announcements regarding store sales, in-store performances, upcoming concerts, and new releases. Created and conducted contest giveaways for in-store promotions. Interviewed musical artists such as Damon Albarn (Blur/Gorillaz), Pharell Williams (Neptunes/N.E.R.D.), and Deborah Cox (J Records artist).  Hosted in-store performances and walk-throughs with artists such as Inspectah Deck (Wu -Tang Clan), Trey Anastasio (Phish), James Taylor, and Paul Oakenfold.

 Channel One News, Los Angeles - Anchor/Reporter                                  7/2000-7/2001

Reported for educational news program that aired Monday through Friday, and was viewed by 8 million junior high and high school students in over 60 cities across the nation.  Pitched and researched story ideas for news broadcasts. Traveled across the country and conducted interviews concerning top stories, including Yahoo Co-Founder, Jerry Yang.

 WERS 88.9 FM, Boston - DJ/Host/Producer                                              9/1996-6/2000

Created and produced Tape Deck Tuesday, a weekly three hour hip-hop show on the city’s most renowned radio station with a potential listening audience of 3 million. Hosted and deejayed Tape Deck Tuesday, on “88.9 at Night”. Selected music, operated mixing boards, made announcements for upcoming concerts and events, answered phones, and took requests. Booked and confirmed talent for annual “Live Music Week”.
